Our landscaping, and how we go about it

The first call is the start of every job. We ask what you want done, what your schedule looks like, and whether you have any trouble spots—a wet corner, a patch of nutsedge, a tree that drops limbs after every storm. We ask about your mowing height preference, whether you bag clippings or mulch them, and if you want us to edge the walks and driveways. We also ask about access: gates, dogs, sprinkler heads, and any low-hanging branches. Then we give you a straight quote based on the size of the lot, the density of the vegetation, and the frequency of visits. We do not throw out a number over the phone without knowing what we are walking into. If we have not seen the place, we will come by and look first.

The work itself is about consistency and the right equipment. We mow with a zero-turn mower that cuts clean and does not scalp the turf on uneven ground. We trim around fences, posts, and trees with a string trimmer, and we edge the pavement with a blade edger. For weed control, we use a selective herbicide that targets broadleaf weeds without damaging the grass. Fertilization follows the soil's needs: a slow-release nitrogen blend in the growing season and a lower-nitrogen mix in the fall. Tree trimming is done with a pole saw for the lower limbs and a handsaw for anything that needs a clean cut. The difference between work that lasts and work that fades is doing it on a schedule, not when the grass gets tall.
