Weed Control

Weeds are more than an eyesore; they steal water, sunlight, and nutrients from your grass, leaving your lawn thin and patchy. Homeowners often call us when dandelions, clover, or crabgrass have spread across the yard, or when weeds are creeping in from fence lines and garden beds. You might notice bare spots where weeds have choked out the turf, or a general unevenness that makes the lawn look unkempt. That is when you need a targeted weed control program.

Our crew starts by walking the property to identify weed types and problem areas. We mix selective herbicides—broadleaf formulas for dandelions and clover, pre-emergent granules for crabgrass—in a backpack sprayer or spreader. We apply pre-emergent in early spring to stop seeds from germinating, then follow with spot sprays of post-emergent on active weeds. We calibrate the equipment for your lawn size and avoid overspray onto flower beds or hardscapes.

The cost and time of weed control vary with lawn size, weed density, and the mix of species. A yard with light, scattered weeds takes less chemical and fewer passes than one with heavy crabgrass or persistent nutsedge. Access matters too: narrow gates, steep slopes, or overgrown beds slow the crew down. Weather also plays a role—rain can wash off treatments, and wind can drift spray, so we schedule around calm, dry days for best results.

On treatment day, we arrive with loaded sprayers and clearly marked jugs. We flag any sensitive plants or pet areas before spraying, and we work methodically from one side of the yard to the other. After application, we rinse the equipment on-site and collect any empty containers for proper disposal. You should keep kids and pets off the lawn until the spray has dried—usually a couple of hours—and delay watering for at least 24 hours.
